ERIC DEFAZIO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
 

The Wilson Youth Soccer League Scholarship is open to all graduating high school seniors who have participated in the Wilson Youth Soccer Program as a player, coach and/or referee or in any other capacity the committee deems beneficial to the enhancement of soccer by being involved in the Wilson Youth Soccer Program. A minimum of two scholarships will be awarded. One for a male graduating senior and one for a female graduating senior.

 

1. Qualifications

          a. Candidate must have participated in the Wilson Youth Soccer Program.

          b. Candidate must be a member of the graduating class.

          c. Candidate must have reasonable assurance of acceptance in an accredited institution of higher learning. Correspondence courses shall not be accepted.

2. Procedure

          a. Application may be obtained from the Wilson Central High School Guidance Office, any officer of the Wilson Youth Soccer League or by letter form to the Wilson Youth Soccer League, P.O. Box 144, Wilson, N.Y. 14172-0144.


          b. A Selection Committee named by the Wilson Youth Soccer League Board of Directors will screen the applicants and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors who will in turn make the final decision.


          c. Completed applications must be mailed, before June 1, to:

          d. Do not include any material not requested: letters of reference, biographies, pictures, etc.

          e. Personal interviews may be conducted and application answers may be verified.

          f. If for any reason the winner should not enter a school of higher learning in the Fall semester, the first alternate will become the recipient.

         g. The Wilson Youth Soccer Board of Directors will determine the amount and number of scholarships annually.

         h. Scholarships will be distributed at the annual Wilson Youth Soccer Tournament in mid-July or Wilson Central School Class Night.

         i. All applications shall be considered confidential and will not be used for any other purpose.
